Spreads and the half-point
One type of bet, the point spread, is based on the margin of victory, while a moneyline bet simply requires you to pick the winner. Point spreads in college football can be significantly larger than in the NFL, as the talent gap between teams in college is much greater. A 2.5-point spread, for example, means the game cannot land exactly on the number, eliminating the possibility of a push.
Totals
Totals betting is also popular in college football. For instance, if Alabama is set at 53.5 points, an Over bet wins if the teams combine for 54 or more points, while an Under bet wins with 53 or fewer.
Overtime in college games
Overtime rules in college football differ from the NFL. Each team begins their possession at the opponent's 25-yard line, and in the second overtime, teams must attempt a two-point conversion after a touchdown. If the game is still tied after two overtimes, teams alternate two-point conversion attempts until a winner is determined. Full-game bets, including spreads, moneylines, and totals, generally include overtime unless the sportsbook's rules specify otherwise.

Moneyline odds show both the potential payout and each team's implied probability of winning, making them an important consideration in bet analysis.
