Pushes, majority draws and stoppages
Bets push if the fight ends at exactly 2:30 in the third round, and a majority draw occurs when two judges score it a draw and the third has a winner. Stoppages are more common in MMA than in standard boxing decisions.
How the .5 works in UFC rounds
The over wins if the fight is still going with 2:29 remaining in the third round. Over/unders in UFC betting look similar to other sports, but they are unique in that the ".5" actually means halfway through the round. If you bet over 2.5 rounds, the fight does not need to go three full rounds for you to win the bet; it only needs to cross the halfway point of that round.
Rounds, judges and fighter factors
Most UFC fights are just three rounds, while UFC title fights are five 5-minute rounds. Every round is scored by three judges, with ten points to the winner and nine points or fewer to the other fighter.
The UFC was founded in 1993. A fighter's reach, late weight cuts, and coming off a bad KO are also key factors to consider when handicapping MMA betting odds.
